Kano Boils: Rep Doguwa Accuses NNPP Chairman Of Masterminding Brutal Attack On APC Supporters

The lawmaker representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has raised alarm over what he described as persistent attacks on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his constituency.

His latest outcry follows an assault on Thursday, August 28, when thugs reportedly invaded Tasarrufi General Enterprise, a factory in Tudun Wada, leaving several workers severely injured. The attack occurred while the Local Government Chairman was said to be supervising the demolition of structures in the area.

Addressing journalists, Doguwa alleged that the incident was orchestrated by the leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the state, particularly accusing the council chairman of fueling unrest.

“What we saw was a barbaric attack on our people and our party offices, organized and carried out by the Chairman,” Doguwa said. “One of the worst-hit victims is the APC Chairman in Tudun Wada, Alhaji Suyudi Umar. Under the guise of the ruling NNPP, they are always out to instigate trouble.”

The lawmaker recalled the political tension between him and the NNPP during the last general election when he faced allegations of murder, a case he said was dismissed by both the Abuja and Kano Federal High Courts, which also awarded ₦25 million in his favor against the state government.

Confirming the incident, Kano State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed that investigations have already begun.

“There is a formal complaint against the ALGON chairperson,” Kiyawa said. “All witnesses and the suspect have been invited, while the chairperson’s orderly has been recalled to the command to give an account of the incident.”
