Governor Yusuf also took the opportunity to highlight his administration’s ongoing development projects, reaffirming his vision to transform Kano into a mega city. He emphasized that his efforts are not limited to infrastructure but extend to strengthening local government administration to ensure that the benefits of democracy reach all corners of the state.

“The impact of our developmental projects is becoming visible, and we are extending similar efforts to the local governments to ensure every citizen enjoys the benefits of governance,” Yusuf stated.

In his address, Emir Sanusi II expressed his gratitude to the government and the state House of Assembly for his reinstatement. He commended the state’s progress in human development, particularly in education, infrastructure, and healthcare under Governor Yusuf’s leadership. The Emir also called on local government chairmen to intensify their efforts to improve living conditions at the grassroots level.

“The local government chairmen must step up their efforts to improve the lives of the people,” Sanusi said.

Traditionally, Emir Sanusi II participated in the 1903 Hauwa Nassarawa homage, a revered cultural practice. However, due to security concerns surrounding large public gatherings, the Emir opted not to participate in the usual horse procession, instead traveling in a vehicle convoy to the Government House. Additionally, he consciously avoided the regular state roads to ensure his safety and minimize any potential risks.
