The union emphasized that despite submitting several requests and strategically seeking an audience with the state government, their appeals have been denied.

Sulaiman emphasized, “The union calls for urgent reconstitution of the University Governing Council and uses this medium to draw the Visitor’s attention to the strategic importance, by Law, of University Governing Council and to the extent to which its absence undermines the University administration.”

Regarding the conditions of service, ASUU demanded the immediate settlement of Earned Academic Allowance (EAA) balances and Consequential Adjustment arrears.

Additionally, the union called for the prompt implementation of the newly approved Consolidated Universities Academic Salary Structure II award and the payment of arrears and the provisional wage award of N35,000 approved by the federal government.
