This Appropriation Bill, named ‘Budget of Restoration and Transformation,’ aims to bring about significant changes in Kano.

During the presentation of the budget estimate on Friday, Governor Yusuf pledged to address financial inefficiencies in public funding.

Out of the total budget, which amounts to N350.2 billion, N215.8 billion has been allocated to capital projects, while N134.4 billion is designated for recurrent expenses.

A detailed breakdown of the proposed budget highlights that education receives the highest allocation, with N95.3 billion.

Works is allocated N40.4 billion, physical planning N5.1 billion, transport N4.8 billion, and agriculture receives N11 billion.

Water resources have been allotted N13.4 billion, and N8.9 billion is directed towards women and youth programs.

Governor Yusuf emphasized his government’s focus on human capital development, improving the well-being of Kano residents, enhancing security, healthcare, food security, and fostering job creation, among other priorities.
