During a meeting held at the Government House in Kano on Tuesday, the Governor conveyed his assurance to representatives from the Foundation, highlighting his determination to fortify the existing partnership and thereby bolster healthcare services throughout the State.
Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the State’s deputy governor, shared this development with the delegation from the Foundation on behalf of Governor Yusuf. Gwarzo emphasized the State’s steadfast resolve to enhance healthcare accessibility across all levels.
In a statement released by Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, on Wednesday, it was disclosed that Governor Yusuf emphasized the immediate requirement for about six million vaccine doses to effectively combat the recent surge of diphtheria cases within the State.
Furthermore, the statement conveyed Governor Yusuf’s gratitude to the Foundation for their invaluable support in the healthcare sector. He also expressed a keen interest in extending the Foundation’s involvement to sectors such as agriculture and digital finance.
The leader of the Nigerian delegation from the Foundation, Mr. Jerremy Zungurana, expressed his admiration for the enduring partnership and commended the State’s dedicated efforts in advancing healthcare development.
