After the voting concluded, she expressed her gratitude to supporters of her “Renewal2030” campaign, which aims to bring the party back to power following a significant defeat to Keir Starmer’s Labour Party. “The polls have closed for the Conservative Party leadership contest. I want to thank all our party members who took the time to engage with the candidates, attend our hustings, and host us in your associations and homes,” she stated on her X account.

Badenoch emphasized that the Conservative Party is more than just a membership organization; it is a family. She expressed special thanks to those who voted for her.

In response to her victory, former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who previously worked with Badenoch, hailed her as a “superb leader.” He noted that she would “renew our party” and “take the fight to Labour.”

“Congratulations to Kemi Badenoch on being elected Conservative Party leader. I know she will be an excellent leader for our great party. Let’s unite behind her,” Sunak wrote on his X account.
