Initially, the federal government had unveiled a $300 helicopter landing levy, permitting the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) to commence fee collection. NAEBI Dynamic Concepts Limited was exclusively authorized to administer these fees on behalf of NAMA for federal entities.

However, owing to the resounding opposition from aviation stakeholders, Keyamo disclosed on Friday the suspension of the levy, effective from May 30, 2024, allowing for a comprehensive review. He further disclosed the formation of a committee tasked with addressing the concerns raised by stakeholders and presenting their findings by the end of June 2024.

In a statement, Keyamo emphasized the need for a reevaluation following discussions with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), International Oil Companies (IOCs), and NAEBI Dynamic Concept Ltd, the designated consultants for levy collection. The committee, composed of representatives from the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and relevant agencies, has been mandated to propose a viable path forward, considering the reservations expressed by stakeholders regarding the appropriateness of the levies
