Kofa expressed concern that the prolonged feud between the two political heavyweights has hindered progress in Kano State. He urged well-meaning citizens to support efforts to mend the rift for the benefit of the state.
Speaking during an interview with Freedom Radio on Thursday, Kofa highlighted the extensive political achievements of both leaders. He noted Kwankwaso’s rise from the Kano State Civil Service to Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, as well as his roles as a two-term governor, Minister of Defense, Senator, Ambassador, presidential candidate, and potential national leader.
Similarly, Kofa praised Ganduje’s professional and political journey, from his beginnings as a civil servant to roles as Director in the FCT, Commissioner, Deputy Governor, Executive Secretary, and two-term governor, noting his remarkable contributions along the way.
Kofa emphasized that the ongoing rivalry between the two leaders has negatively impacted Kano, pointing out that those familiar with the situation recognize it as the root cause of the unrest. A committed follower of Kwankwaso’s Kwankwasiyya movement, Kofa stated that he felt a personal responsibility to advocate for peace between the two despite their political differences.
“Politics is a separate matter, and it’s their choice, but as Muslims, it is our duty to bring them together,” Kofa said.
He acknowledged the historical friendship between Kwankwaso and Ganduje and expressed disappointment over their current discord. Kofa urged both leaders to set aside their differences and prioritize peace and unity for the greater good.
