During the gathering, Abejide urged party members to remain steadfast in supporting the president, while speakers from all nine federal constituencies pledged to mobilize their polling units for both Tinubu and Abejide. The meeting also ratified new state executives to oversee the ADC’s operations in Kogi, filling vacancies caused by resignations, deaths, and alleged neglect by former officials.
Abejide, who represents Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and serves on the ADC National Executive Committee, emphasized the need to reclaim party structures amid ongoing disputes between rival factions. The opposing faction, aligned with former Senate President David Mark, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, and Senator Dino Melaye, continues to recognize Kingsley Ogah as state chairman—a claim rejected by Abejide’s camp.
Stakeholders at the meeting condemned Ogah’s leadership, describing him as leading an “illegal coalition” against party interests. They reaffirmed his expulsion, citing a letter from local ADC stakeholders detailing alleged misconduct. The newly appointed executives, including Hon. (Chief) Sunday Maiyaki as State Chairman and Hon. Mamman Akpena as State Secretary, received widespread endorsement.
Abejide cited alleged mismanagement by former national leaders as the source of the factional crisis and dismissed claims challenging his leadership as baseless. He outlined plans for ongoing court challenges against the rival faction, promising that the ADC would regain control of the national secretariat and conduct a proper national convention.
Looking ahead, Abejide urged members to prepare for the 2026 local government elections and announced plans to expand his interest-free loan scheme across the state. He also praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his leadership in Kogi. The meeting concluded with a unified declaration of loyalty to Abejide and the faction, reaffirming their commitment to securing victory for both Tinubu and Abejide in 2027.
