During the event, Ododo explained that his decision to depart from the APC was based on the fundamental principles of fairness, equity, and justice in the governance of the state.
He expressed his belief that the Yahaya Bello administration had not fulfilled its promises to the people of the state since 2015.
Ododo asserted that the current government came to power unexpectedly and stressed that it is now time for Kogi West Senatorial District to produce the next Governor of the State. He openly declared his support for the AA governorship candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh.
He stated, “I have been actively involved in Kogi State politics for a considerable period. I have worked alongside prominent figures such as former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bayo Ojo, and former Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Olushola Akanmode. We are now fully committed to supporting the AA governorship candidate in the upcoming election.”
In response, Braimoh conveyed to the new entrants and his supporters at the defection ceremony that he is on a mission to uplift Kogi State and its people from poverty.
