In his statement, Bashir expressed his gratitude: “Dear colleagues, thank you for your prayers and concern. My family and other relatives abducted in Kaduna have been released. I am deeply thankful for your support and hope such an ordeal never befalls any of us. Thank you once again.”

Bashir’s wife, Aminat Shana, his two daughters, Aisha and Hajara, along with other family members were abducted on Thursday two weeks ago and taken to an unknown location. The released family members include Aisha Saba Khadija, Haruna, Adamu Haruna, Muhammad Abubakar, Asmau Abubakar, Usman Abubakar, Muhammad Abubakar, and Hauwa Muhammad.
