State Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, stated in Lokoja that the efforts against criminal activities in the state are producing positive results.

“We don’t know what’s going on,” Nigerians lament over fuel scarcity.

Aya reported that the wounded criminals were apprehended along Obajana Road in the western senatorial district of the state.

He explained, “As part of the ongoing crackdown on banditry, kidnapping, and other serious crimes in Kogi State, the Nigeria Police Force operatives attached to Obajana Division, in collaboration with the Fulani vigilantes, responded to a tip-off. On May 27, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., we received information that three armed hoodlums were spotted in Ankumi Forest.

“Immediately, the Divisional Police Officer, Oguche Richard, mobilized his patrol team along with the Fulani vigilantes and moved to the area at 2:30 p.m.

“Upon seeing the team, the hoodlums opened fire, prompting a response from the team. Due to the superior firepower of the Police, two of the criminals were fatally wounded, while the third escaped with bullet injuries.

“Recovered from the scene were one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and two rounds of live ammunition. Efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing suspect
