The court awarded custody of their three children to the wife and mandated that she observe a three-month iddah (waiting period) before remarrying. Judge Ajumonbi also instructed Mr. Ajibola to contribute to the children’s sustenance to the best of his ability and to have unrestricted access to them.

Earlier, Ms. Mohammed had filed for divorce, expressing her frustration with her husband’s financial irresponsibility. She requested the dissolution of their marriage to find peace of mind. In response, Mr. Ajibola acknowledged his financial struggles but expressed his desire to maintain the relationship, lamenting his inability to support his family adequately.
