Professor Salman, a specialist in mathematics education, previously served as a lecturer in the Department of Science Education and as the coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre at the University of Ilorin. She obtained her Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1985, followed by a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Ilorin in 1990, and a doctoral degree in the same field in 1998. Notably, she is the first female professor from the Ilorin Emirate.
According to a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, her research focuses on mathematics education, gender issues in mathematics and science education, and innovation in mathematics education in developing countries. The appointment is effective immediately.
It is worth noting that the Kwara State government established the University of Education, Ilorin, in May of this year.
