Hon. Abdulqowwiy Olododo, the Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, reaffirmed this commitment during a courtesy visit by the ministry’s management team to Michael Nzekwe, the Zonal Commander of the EFCC’s Ilorin Zonal Command, located in the state capital, Ilorin.

Olododo revealed that the administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is resolute in its determination to declare a state of emergency in the mining sector. The ultimate goal is to ensure that revenue generated from mining activities contributes significantly to the state’s development.

In expressing his confidence in the EFCC’s dedication and tenacity in tackling illegal mining within the state, the commissioner commended the agency. He emphasized that the governor is firmly supportive of the EFCC’s actions, especially its efforts to curb unauthorized mining activities and other economic crimes in Kwara State.

Olododo acknowledged the challenges the EFCC faces in carrying out its demanding mission and assured them of the government’s commitment to complementing their efforts. The government, under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is focused on effectively organizing and harnessing the mining sector’s potential to attract both local and foreign investors.
