The summit centered around the theme “Petroleum Downstream Deregulation and Gas Utilization.”

He emphasized that to achieve this objective, Nigeria should prioritize using gas as a transportation fuel, stating that the nation’s sustainable energy source lies in developing its gas resources.

Furthermore, the head of NNPC pointed out that with an ample domestic petroleum supply, Nigeria would have surplus to export.

He asserted, “The market is naturally adapting itself, and this market-driven adjustment is a positive development for our country.

While allowing market forces to take the lead, the government will also play its role in ensuring that relief measures are accessible.

I hold a strong belief that by 2024, Nigeria will transform into a net exporter of petroleum products.

This implies that we will have an ample supply within the country and a surplus that can be exported, thus creating significant value.
