A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions on social media after allegedly admitting that she continued accepting daily food deliveries from a man despite having no romantic interest in him.

The incident was shared on X by a user identified as @Olami_deeEbony, who narrated how her colleague regularly received specially prepared meals from a man who owns a small restaurant on Lagos Island.

According to the account, the man consistently sent different dishes, including stir-fry pasta, party jollof rice and assorted pepper soup, through a dispatch rider. He reportedly went as far as creating a special menu for the woman to ensure she received lunch around noon every day.

The situation reportedly came up during a conversation at their workplace when one of the woman’s colleagues jokingly suggested that she might be dating the man because of the attention and generosity he showed her.

However, the lady reportedly dismissed the suggestion, making it clear that she had no intention of dating him despite enjoying the meals he regularly provided.

In the account shared online, she was quoted as saying that the man was not her type and that she only appreciated the food, adding that she would continue allowing him to believe there was a possibility of a relationship.

The arrangement reportedly took an unexpected turn when the man failed to deliver lunch one afternoon. The woman allegedly became concerned, repeatedly checked her phone and eventually called him around 2 p.m. to ask why her food had not arrived.

During the conversation, the man reportedly requested that she give him a clear answer about whether she was interested in dating him so he could redirect his attention elsewhere.

The woman allegedly became upset and questioned why he was giving her an ultimatum over the meals he had voluntarily been sending.

However, before she could finish expressing her displeasure, the man reportedly ended the call.

The storyteller added that her colleague appeared visibly unhappy after the conversation, while other workers in the office reportedly laughed at the unexpected development.
