Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, reported on Wednesday that an assessment of the structure revealed it to be in a dangerously unstable condition. As a precaution, both the building and nearby structures will be evacuated to prevent potential loss of life and property.

“The agency’s response team has confirmed that immediate evacuation is necessary for the building and surrounding areas. We are implementing a response plan that includes a detailed assessment, safe evacuation, and controlled demolition,” Oke-Osanyintolu stated.

The statement emphasized that the demolition is a proactive measure under Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration to address the building’s unsafe conditions and prevent any secondary incidents.
