Lagos Police Arrest Nine Individuals Over Open Defecation Offenses

Officials from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps have apprehended nine individuals caught engaging in open defecation in the Berger area. This follows a previous report where Wahab revealed that 17 individuals were detained on Thursday night in Berger for similar offenses, including open urination, defecation, and failure to use the pedestrian bridge. The state government’s strict policy against open defecation aligns with its broader initiative to promote a cleaner and healthier environment for Lagos residents.

In addition, the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources has initiated a cleanup of the Ojodu-Berger highway median as part of its campaign to eliminate open defecation.
