In a statement issued on Monday, Hundeyin highlighted the outpouring of support from citizens following the command’s successful intervention in thwarting a kidnapping attempt in Ladipo. He commended Nigerians for their demonstrations of patriotism and appreciation towards the Nigeria Police Force.

Last Thursday, the Lagos Police Command apprehended nine kidnappers in Ladipo, with two suspects fleeing the scene despite sustaining gunshot wounds. The operation yielded significant seizures including four AK-47 rifles, four locally-manufactured semi-automatic pistols, nine AK-47 magazines, three walkie-talkies, a POS machine, and a loudspeaker. Additionally, the perpetrators’ operational vehicles—a black Toyota 4Runner and a blue Lexus RX350—were impounded. Ongoing investigations aim to capture the escaped suspects.

Hundeyin expressed gratitude for the overwhelming positive feedback received since Friday, emphasizing the motivation it provides to the force. He assured the public that the Lagos Police Force remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in Lagos State.
