This move comes in response to continuous reports by Vanguard newspapers regarding the daily traffic woes on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.
The public outcry has intensified due to the reemergence of severe traffic jams near the Mile-2 area, primarily caused by haphazard parking by truck drivers.
This chaotic situation has inflicted considerable hardship on other commuters and local residents who depend on this vital route.
The predicament faced by motorists and other road users in this area has been exacerbated by truckers who occupy the entire roadway, often in collusion with law enforcement officials who engage in extortion of drivers.
Accompanying the Governor on this inspection were key members of the State Executive Council, including Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for the Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, and various other senior government officials.
During the tour, Governor Sanwo-Olu made a brief stop at the Mile-2 Bus Stop Ramp, where he engaged with operators and stressed the importance of maintaining order and discipline in this critical area.
