Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has dismissed claims that he withdrew his lawsuit against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to allow the party’s National Convention in Ibadan to proceed, calling the reports completely false.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Lamido clarified that the Federal High Court had, in fact, ruled in his favour—affirming that the Ibadan convention could not hold since he was unlawfully barred from contesting for the position of National Chairman.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, he denied meeting Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, or reaching any agreement to drop the case. He revealed that the viral report triggered numerous calls from concerned PDP members nationwide, prompting him to set the record straight.

“I urge members to note that the story attributed to me is false. The Federal High Court today, at about 2:30 p.m., delivered a judgment affirming my right to contest the Chairmanship of the PDP, which was earlier denied me,” he wrote.

Lamido added that the court order halting the November 15 and 16 convention remains valid and has already been served on both the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He criticised the circulating report as malicious and misleading, stressing that he remains committed to defending his rights and seeking justice within the party.
