Mr. Jamilu Ladan, the Coordinator of UNFPA State Sub-Implementing Partner at the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission (PBC), disclosed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Sunday.

Ladan, who serves as a Programme Officer at PBC, noted that this achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of development partners and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working in the field of GBV.

He described this progress as a significant milestone, highlighting that Kaduna State had initially lagged in terms of the number of reported GBV cases on the national dashboard.

“However, by the end of September, Kaduna State has emerged as one of the leading states in terms of GBV case reporting, with approximately 500 cases documented, and five of them undergoing prosecution,” he stated.

Dr. Elvis Evborein, the Reproductive Health Analyst at UNFPA Kaduna, emphasized that GBV is a multidimensional endeavor involving CSOs, government agencies, and other partners, each playing distinct roles.

Evborein added that UNFPA had assisted the state government in establishing a GBV Technical Working Group, fostering collaboration and coordination among relevant stakeholders in the GBV response.
