Represented by Minister of Information Mohammed Idris, the President acknowledged the hardships faced by Nigerians and assured that significant steps had been taken to mitigate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.
He highlighted initiatives undertaken by the administration, including the introduction of N100 billion CNG-powered buses, a N35,000 pay raise for civil servants, and the enactment of five executive directives to support businesses.
Additionally, President Tinubu mentioned the establishment of a committee to alleviate the tax burden on Nigerians and efforts to settle inherited foreign exchange arrears amounting to billions of dollars.
He emphasized that the challenges faced by Nigerians were essential sacrifices for the nation’s development.
