In a video posted on social media, Hilbert accused Destiny of stealing her wealthy boyfriend and vowed to physically confront Etiko if she visits Asaba, Delta State. The dispute began after Etiko unfollowed Hilbert on social media.
Hilbert claimed that Etiko’s series of betrayals had finally caught up with her, forcing her to flee Asaba for Lagos out of fear. She further alleged that Etiko had taken her boyfriend and other men from her colleagues who support their extravagant lifestyles.
In response, Destiny Etiko, through her legal team, issued a ₦100 million demand for Hilbert to retract all defamatory posts against her on social media. Etiko denied the allegations, calling them false and an attempt to damage her reputation. She also demanded that Hilbert cease making further defamatory remarks.
Hilbert, in turn, filed a fundamental human rights suit at the Federal High Court in Lagos on March 10, 2025, accusing the Nigerian police of attempting to arrest her under the influence of Destiny Etiko. She described the police’s actions as illegal, unlawful, and a violation of her constitutional rights. Hilbert is seeking protection from any future arrest or interrogation related to the video she posted on March 7, as well as ₦100 million in damages for the alleged unlawful invasion.
