Legal Storm Brewing As Kwankwaso Faces Possible Action Over Alleged Bulk Purchase Of PRP Nomination Forms
The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has been threatened with legal action over allegations that he purchased all Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) nomination forms for various elective positions in Kano State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The PRP State Chairman, Abdulkadir Musa Guza, made the allegation on Sunday during a press briefing at the NUJ Press Centre in Kano.
Guza expressed concern that hundreds of aspirants within the party have been left uncertain about their political future following the development.
He stated that he had travelled to Kaduna as the PRP State Chairman to attend a party retreat and also obtained nomination forms for party members intending to contest different positions in Kano, after they had paid for them. However, he claimed he was later informed that all the forms had been purchased by a single individual.
According to him, when he sought clarification, the party’s national secretary allegedly confirmed that the forms were acquired by Kwankwaso, adding that discussions were ongoing regarding his possible defection to the party.
Guza further said that after several days without any indication of Kwankwaso joining the PRP, it appeared the move may have been misleading, noting that it is improper for a person to hold forms of one party while remaining in another.
He added that the party was considering legal action if Kwankwaso fails to return the forms before the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for submission of candidates’ names.
