Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, announced at the Charity Champions Gala Night in Abuja that the National Eye Centre Act (Amendment) Bill, recently introduced in parliament, aims to enhance access to eye care across Nigeria. Kalu expressed concern over reports indicating that approximately 24 million Nigerians are facing challenges related to vision impairment.

During his address, Kalu highlighted his personal commitment to addressing this issue, noting that the Benjamin Kalu Foundation had provided eye treatment to over 4,000 constituents in the past year alone.
