Nollywood actress, Omotunde Adebowale David, better known as Lolo 1, has expressed concern over the plight of Nigerians abroad, noting that many prefer to endure hardship in foreign countries rather than return to Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a recent interview with News Central, Lolo 1 highlighted how Nigerians continue to face challenges overseas, yet choose to stay there due to the lack of basic amenities and opportunities in their home country. Despite the difficult living conditions abroad, she pointed out that Nigerians often stay because they have access to stable electricity, better roads, and functional transportation systems — things that are often unavailable in Nigeria.
She criticized Nigerian leaders for not providing a better standard of living, which forces citizens to seek alternatives abroad. Lolo 1 also pointed out the paradox of Nigerians contributing to the progress of foreign countries while struggling to meet basic needs at home.
She stated, “It saddens me to see this reality. The data is undeniable—it’s right in front of us. Nigerians are making life easier for foreign countries. People would rather endure tough conditions abroad and pay exorbitant school fees than live here with relative ease. Some Nigerians overseas face deplorable living conditions, but they prefer it because at least there’s constant electricity, better roads, and accessible transportation. Back home, even basic things like feeding are becoming more expensive.”
