During a press conference at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, Abure urged the NLC to collaborate with the LP to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians caused by poor governance.
Abure emphasized that unity between the LP, the NLC, and the party’s elected representatives in the National Assembly is essential for the nation’s progress. He stressed the importance of creating a conducive environment to gain power and use it for the people’s benefit.
Addressing NLC President Joe Ajaero, Abure asked him to set aside his grievances for the greater good. He argued that internal conflicts within the Labour Party are unnecessary and counterproductive, particularly when Nigerians are facing hardship. Abure pointed out that the disputes are based on falsehoods, personal ambition, and selfish interests, urging a united front against common challenges.
Abure also expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State and other party members and leaders for their support in holding a successful convention.
