The leading gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming Edo election, Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, in a widely circulated video, unleashed a preview of his much-anticipated manifesto.
Akpata, accompanied by his running mate, Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri, SAN, engaged with members of the Benin Recreation Club, where he unveiled his vision for Edo State and its people, giving his opponents a run for their money.
Speaking on how his incoming government intends to make healthcare effective for the benefit of the common man, he stated: “Primary healthcare centers suppose they every ward nor be every local government, every five minutes when you drive you suppose see primary health care center. One doctor, two nurse, two healthcare attendants, catarrh nor be wetin dem dey carry go UBTH, migrane nor be wetin dem dey carry go specialist hospital, Malaria sef just branch go Iye Osayande, dem give Osayande medicine make e go house. ”
Akpata unleashed a scathing critique of the clueless incumbent government, his voice dripping with palpable frustration and disdain, sparing no punches in exposing their failures to the world, declaring: “You leave primary healthcare center go build museum, na mean say they is a disconnect na error. You go destroy library build shopping mall when the average man nor fit afford the shop wey de inside there.”
Edo people are eager for issue-based campaigns. The era of bad governance is nearing its end as Edolites prepare to make the best choice: Olumide Akpata and the Labour Party.
Edo residents are rejecting candidates with campaigns built on propaganda and false promises, such as the PDP candidate, and those who remain silent about their plans under the guise of “grassroots politics.”
