Major Shake-Up: PSC Redeploys Six Police Commissioners To State Commands!

The new appointments were announced in a statement released on Tuesday, December 24, by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani.

According to the statement, CP Shettima Mohammed has been appointed to lead the Nasarawa State Command, CP Rabiu Mohammed will head the Kaduna State Command, and CP Adepoju Adewale will oversee operations in the Rivers State Command.

Additionally, CP Mohammed Azare has been assigned to the Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Wilfred Afolabi to the Ondo State Command, and CP Joseph Eribo, who previously earned recognition for his exemplary service in Akwa Ibom, has been redeployed to the Ekiti State Command to bolster security efforts.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hashimu Argungu (retd.), emphasized the gravity of the responsibilities entrusted to the new commissioners.

He urged them to fully commit to the government’s goal of stabilizing the nation by ensuring all states remain safe from crime and criminal activities, thereby fostering public safety and trust within their communities.

DIG Argungu added, “The Commission will closely monitor their performance and support their success in these roles. He called on the commissioners to reciprocate the government’s confidence in them by rededicating themselves to the service of their fatherland.”
