Makinde Orders LG Bosses: Provide Luxury Vehicles For New Olubadan Now

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has instructed the chairmen of the 11 local government areas within Ibadan to supply a befitting fleet of vehicles for the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin.

This directive comes nearly 11 months after Oba Olakulehin’s coronation as the 43rd Olubadan, which took place on Friday, July 12, 2024.

Makinde issued the directive while speaking at the grand finale of the Ibadan Cultural Week, held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Oke Ado, Ibadan, on Saturday.

The event was graced by notable figures including Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, the Olubadan (represented by Oba Rasidi Ladoja), Chairman of the event Architect Bamidele Samson, Planning Committee Chairman Chief Abiola Alli, and the President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Chief Sulaimon Ajewole.

Makinde emphasized that the local government chairmen must deliver the vehicles to the Olubadan before the end of the month.

He stated, “Some people have been asking why the Olubadan has not yet received vehicles that reflect his esteemed position. I have now directed all 11 local government councils in Ibadanland to provide a befitting fleet of vehicles for the Olubadan, and they must do so before this month ends.
