In a statement released on Wednesday, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, detailed that each composer will also receive a parcel of land and have streets named in their honor. Additionally, the Ministry of Information and Orientation plans to produce a documentary exploring the history behind the anthem.

Oyelade noted that “Asiwaju Ni Wa” has been the official anthem of the state for nearly a decade without any compensation for its creators, prompting the council to form a committee last year to address the issue.

In related developments, the commissioner reported that the council reviewed the promotion of 1,629 state employees, including nurses adversely affected by administrative errors during the 2017 to 2020 promotion exercise.

Furthermore, the council supported the reinstatement of 47 civil servants who were wrongfully dismissed under the previous administration. In total, 124 workers dismissed in 2012 have received pardons, while 823 workers laid off due to fraudulent certificate submissions will remain dismissed. The council also approved the termination of 180 workers who were hired in the final days of the previous administration in 2019.
