Man Lands In Trouble After Blocking Employer Who Accidentally Sent Him ₦10 Million
A Nigerian lady identified as @itzchristunique on X, formerly Twitter, has shared a story about her employer’s alleged mistaken transfer of ₦10 million to the wrong account, an incident that reportedly ended in the recipient’s arrest.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman explained that her employer intended to transfer the money to a supplier but mistakenly sent it to another person’s account. The situation reportedly escalated after the employer contacted the recipient and asked for the money to be returned.
The lady disclosed that her employer offered to allow the recipient to keep ₦500,000 and return the remaining ₦9.5 million. However, the recipient allegedly blocked the employer instead of refunding the money.
Following the development, the employer reportedly contacted the bank, which initiated an investigation into the transaction.
The recipient was subsequently traced and arrested by security operatives after allegedly spending more than ₦6 million of the transferred funds. According to the account shared online, his purchases included an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The report further claimed that ₦3.3 million was recovered, while the suspect remained in custody. The circumstances surrounding the recovery and any formal charges were not provided in the account.
The incident has generated reactions on social media, with several users criticising the recipient’s alleged decision to spend money that did not belong to him rather than return it.
One commenter called for the recipient to face the consequences of his actions, comparing the alleged conduct to wider concerns about corruption in Nigeria. Another sarcastically offered to supply beans to the police station to feed him, while others expressed disbelief at how quickly he allegedly spent millions he had not earned.
The incident has renewed discussions about the consequences of refusing to return money received through mistaken bank transfers. While the details shared online have attracted widespread attention, the allegations have not been independently verified.
