Arise TV Anchor, Oseni Rufai, has drawn attention to the deteriorating condition of the Benin-Auchi-Abuja road and other dilapidated federal roads across Nigeria, amidst the trending online video depicting a large truck accident on the Benin-Auchi-Abuja Road caused by the frequent rainfall.

Rufai utilized the opportunity to once again criticize the Federal Government, led by Tinubu, for prioritizing a $2 billion coastal road project, the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, over the urgent repair of numerous deteriorating federal roads nationwide.
Bushradiogist, an independent blog, conducted research on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal road project, revealing that it will cost $4 billion per kilometer. Interestingly, South Africa completed a similar road project covering larger kilometers at a much lower cost. This raises concerns about the FG’s allocation of funds, with suspicions arising that a significant portion is being misappropriated, instead of benefiting the masses, particularly amid the current economic challenges characterized by skyrocketing petrol subsidy, commodity prices, and electricity tariffs.
Oseni Rufai via his Twitter handle, said: “Many roads left undon but we are keen on 1 trillion coastal road.”
