Marafa’s Announcement Of Parallel Faction Deepens Crisis In Zamfara APC....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A crisis has emerged within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State as Senator Kabiru Marafa and his supporters convened in Kaduna on Sunday night to announce the formation of their faction.

Marafa, who represented Zamfara Central Senatorial District in the 7th and 8th National Assembly, explained that their decision to establish a separate faction stemmed from their exclusion from the party’s affairs in Zamfara State. Addressing journalists in Kaduna, he emphasized that Zamfara APC had been divided into two factions since the era of Governor Matawalle.

He attributed the party’s longstanding crisis over the past six years to conflicting interests among political heavyweights in the state, which, he claimed, contributed to APC’s electoral losses, except for President Bola Tinubu’s victory in Zamfara during the 2023 presidential election.

Marafa refuted claims that his faction had taken the APC to court in 2019, clarifying that it was the Zamfara APC that conducted an illegal primary and subsequently sought court validation. He asserted that his faction only joined the legal challenge before the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, awarding the entire state to them.

The senator underscored the necessity of re-establishing his faction, citing his indispensability to Zamfara State APC and the imperative to rally grassroots support from polling units to the state level.
