Speaking to journalists at his residence in Maradun, Zamfara State, Matawalle emphasized Tinubu’s serious commitment to tackling insecurity.
Matawalle highlighted that immediately after his inauguration, President Tinubu instructed security agencies to intensify efforts in addressing the country’s security issues.
He pointed out that Tinubu’s appointments of new service chiefs, a new Inspector General of Police (IGP), and a competent National Security Adviser (NSA) underscored the administration’s determination to combat criminal activities.
Additionally, Matawalle disclosed that he visited Turkey to assess military equipment and aircraft purchased by the federal government for countering banditry in the North West and addressing Boko Haram challenges in the North East. During the same mission, Senior Minister Abubakar Badaru visited China.
