MC Oluomo’s Secret Weapon: Baba Fokoko Reveals His Role In Tinubu’s 2023 Campaign

Veteran Nollywood actor Babatunde Bamgbode, popularly known as Baba Fokoko, has dismissed claims that MC Oluomo, president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), promised monetary rewards to celebrities who campaigned for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections.

Hundreds of Nollywood stars, including Lalude, Alapini, Toyin Abraham, Olaiye Igwe, Seyi Law, Eniola Badmus, and Foluke Daramola, actively supported Tinubu’s presidential bid.

In June 2025, two years after Tinubu’s victory, Alapini expressed disappointment over not receiving any compensation for his efforts. Following her remarks, Lalude also criticized MC Oluomo for allegedly failing to fulfill promises made during the campaign.

However, in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Fokoko refuted the allegations, asserting that MC Oluomo never promised financial rewards to anyone.

“He didn’t promise to reward any of us. He didn’t promise me anything, but he did intend to treat us well. It’s been over two years! He never promised monetary compensation,” Fokoko said.

He added, “During the campaign, he provided foodstuffs for us to share, and we were told to distribute the remaining items among ourselves. We received those food items more than twice, but there was never any promise of payment after the campaign.”
