Melaye Explodes: Onoja Plotted My Fall, I Survived 4 Assassination Attempts Under Yahaya Bello

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has accused ex–Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja, of masterminding attacks against him.

Onoja had recently granted an interview where he criticised former Governor Yahaya Bello, accusing him of betrayal after allegedly reneging on a succession promise in favour of Usman Ododo.

Responding via a post on his handle, Melaye told Onoja to “stop crying,” recalling that the former deputy governor once vowed he would “be dead before the end of June 2017.”

Melaye further alleged that Onoja personally oversaw efforts to recall him from the Senate, instituted a case against him at the FCT High Court, and even testified as a witness.

The former lawmaker expressed gratitude for surviving four assassination attempts, claiming that 12 people, including his nephew, were killed in the process.

“Edward Onoja should keep quiet. He called Yahaya Bello his twin brother and aided him, so he should stop crying. They were behind my ordeals. Thank God I survived four assassination attempts where 12 people died, including my nephew, killed in our compound in Iluafon. Today he is whining. Watch this video… records don’t lie,” Melaye wrote.
