The Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Hon. Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, yesterday visited the family of the late Dr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase, CFR, NPM, fdc, former Inspector-General of Police and immediate past Chairman of the Police Service Commission, to offer his condolences.

He was received by Mrs. Arase, members of the family, and dignitaries including Senator Matthew Uroghide and Chief Bright Igbinedion.

In his remarks, Engr. Momoh hailed the late IGP as “a reformer, an intellectual, and a patriot” whose tenure as the 18th Inspector-General of Police was marked by courage and professionalism, particularly through the creation of the Complaint Response Unit that restored citizens’ trust in the police.

He praised Mrs. Arase for her composure and urged her and the family to take heart, drawing strength from the late IGP’s enduring legacy of service and reform.

Engr. Momoh added that Dr. Arase’s contributions at the Police Service Commission further improved welfare, discipline, and operational standards across the Force, leaving a lasting impact on Nigeria’s security architecture.
