Festus Keyamo, SAN, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, has publicly criticized Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc for allegedly mistreating Nigerian passengers in Morocco.

Keyamo detailed that a flight from Casablanca to Abuja, Nigeria, was forced to make an emergency landing in Marrakesh due to technical issues. Upon landing, passengers, primarily Nigerians, were reportedly left stranded without food or proper shelter. Some passengers, including women and children, were said to have slept on the floor.

“I’ve just received reports about the inhumane treatment of Nigerians by ROYAL AIR MAROC @RAM_Maroc in Marrakesh,” Keyamo posted on his official X account. “The majority of these passengers are Nigerians who have been abandoned at the terminal with no food or adequate shelter, forcing women and children to sleep on the floor!”

Keyamo urged Royal Air Maroc to address the situation immediately and announced that he had instructed the Consumer Protection Department of the NCAA to engage with Royal Air Maroc Nigeria @royalairmarocng to provide urgent assistance to the affected Nigerians.
