In response, Matawalle’s media consultants dismissed these claims as deliberate lies aimed at tarnishing his reputation. They clarified that all arms recovered from terrorists were promptly handed over to relevant government security agencies, refuting any suggestion of collusion.

Matawalle also accused his successor, Governor Dauda Lawal, of having ties with criminal elements, citing videos purportedly showing bandits celebrating Lawal’s electoral victory and pledging allegiance to him in exchange for support.

Despite these accusations, Matawalle reaffirmed his commitment to national security and urged against exploiting security issues for political gain.
