As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional development infrastructure across Nigeria, the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, visited Kano State to inspect a key facility designated for the North West Development Commission.

He was received by the Managing Director of the Commission, Prof. Shehu Abdullahi Ma’aji, and the Board Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Abdullahi, who led him on a detailed tour of the Commission’s proposed permanent Secretariat.

The structure, generously donated by respected industrialist and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, is an outstanding example of impactful public-private collaboration. Purposefully designed to meet the Commission’s long-term administrative and operational requirements, the edifice reflects a commitment to institutional growth and sustainable regional management.

Engr. Abubakar Momoh commended the initiative, noting that such contributions are vital to advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes infrastructure development, balanced regional planning, and inclusive progress.

He stated that the Secretariat will serve as a hub for policy coordination, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning, ultimately benefiting the entire North West region.

From Kano—an epicenter of culture and commerce—the foundation is being laid for a more connected and forward-looking regional future.
