In a statement issued by her Chief Press Secretary, Gabriel Emameh, on Monday, Onyejeocha asserted that she is fully focused on her duties and considers these allegations to be a smear campaign taken to an extreme level. The statement read, in part: “We have taken note of a statement attributed to Abidemi Johnson, an unidentified individual who claims to be the convener of the Coalition of Asiwaju Progressive Woman (CAPW).

In this statement, the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, is labeled as ungrateful and accused of attempting to create a leadership crisis in the House of Representatives.

“Furthermore, this so-called Abidemi alleged that the Honourable Minister provided financial support to an undisclosed group for the purpose of launching a media campaign with the aim of unseating the current Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen.

“We want to make it unequivocally clear that these claims are blatant falsehoods propagated by political adversaries who have no regard for truth, ethics, or reason. This is not only amusing but also warrants a thorough investigation.

“These baseless allegations did not come as a surprise to us, as we were already aware of various plots to initiate a media campaign against her in the event that the Tribunal ruled in her favor. It is a manifestation of their desperation to undermine her.
