The Minister praised the personnel for their dedication to internal security and recognized their sacrifices for national peace.
According to Naija News, Tunji-Ojo made these comments at the NIS headquarters in Abuja during the decoration of newly promoted senior officers, including Deputy Comptroller Generals and Deputy Commandant Generals from the NSCDC, NCoS, and FFS.
In total, 79 senior officers from the four services were elevated to ranks such as DCGs, ACGs, Controllers, Comptrollers, and Commandants.
Tunji-Ojo emphasized that efficiency and innovation are crucial for the services, with the government committed to timely promotions and ensuring personnel receive their entitlements.
He assured that all eligible officers would be promoted by the end of September, stressing that nepotism and favoritism have been removed from the promotion process.
However, he underscored the importance of discipline and dedication for personnel to achieve promotions and demonstrate loyalty to the nation, the President, and their service leaders.
Tunji-Ojo also highlighted President Tinubu’s significant improvements in welfare and infrastructure for the services, citing developments such as the Command and Control Centre at the NIS headquarters, the creation of Mining Marshals at the NSCDC, and infrastructure upgrades at the Kuje Correctional Centre as examples of the President’s achievements over the past year.
