Ehie Edison, who previously served as the factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and the others are implicated in various criminal activities, leading to the issuance of the arrest order by Justice Emeka Nwite. The ruling was delivered in response to an ex-parte application presented by the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The ex-parte application hinged on the provisions of sections 37, 113, 114, 84, and 184 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015, as well as section 35 of the 1999 Constitution and section 32 of the Police Act 2020. The court’s decision to grant the arrest order underscores the seriousness of the allegations and the imperative for a thorough investigation into the alleged criminal activities involving the named individuals.
