The newly confirmed minister emphasized that redeploying soldiers to rural areas would also help restore farming activities. He said, “Farmers must be able to return to their farms. Ensuring this is a measure of success because food security is vital. Hunger breeds anger, and if people cannot feed themselves, it leads to unrest. Protecting farms, in collaboration with the civil defence corps and agro rangers, is essential.”

Musa further highlighted that his strategy would involve a complete ban on illegal mining and other activities that undermine security. He explained, “We are coordinating with the NSA’s office to prevent states from permitting activities that compromise security. Negotiating with offenders only buys them time to acquire more arms, which we have seen repeatedly. Therefore, there will be a total ban on illegal mining and all related activities that fuel insecurity. This is necessary for lasting peace and stability.”
