Speaking at the launch of her beauty brand in London, the mother of three opened up about the personal and financial turmoil she endured during her marital crisis.

May Yul-Edochie, a well-known influencer, revealed that she suffered the complete collapse of her businesses and was burdened with significant debt from loans obtained from three different banks.

She explained that her business losses occurred suddenly, right when she had multiple financial obligations to meet. With goods in her stores expiring and no income coming in, the situation quickly spiraled out of control.

Despite the overwhelming pressure, she said she was determined not to depend on anyone for help.

“It all happened in just a matter of months. Everything I had worked for was crumbling before my eyes—and I still had bank loans to repay. The banks had been very supportive, but unfortunately, it all came crashing down at once.

While there was chaos on social media, I was silently facing deeper battles—dealing with overdue loans, rising interests, and expired inventory. Yet, through it all, I reminded myself of my worth. I chose not to be anyone’s charity case,” she shared.

The emotional and financial breakdown coincided with the public revelation in 2022 that her husband, Yul Edochie, had married actress Judy Austin—news that sparked controversy and reportedly fractured their relationship.
