An autopsy conducted at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on May 23, 2023, could not determine the cause of death. Doctor Ming Han Lim ordered further investigation into John’s body fluids, with results expected in six months.

The Health Ministry received assurances from James Down, responsible for the embalming, that there were no health risks associated with John’s body.

Amidst this tragic incident, when John’s remains arrived in Nigeria on June 10, 2023, the eldest sibling, Mathew Uwakwe, collapsed and died in a nearby village.

Sources allege that Mathew could not bear the reality of losing their ‘pet brother,’ who tragically died in his prime.

The family remains in disbelief, with some refusing to accept the loss and believing that John may still be in a coma and will wake.

John leaves behind two daughters, Jessica and Holy, and a 15-year-old son from a lady-friend of Anambra state origin.
