The decision was reached during a recent State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Abba Yusuf at the Government House in Kano. According to a statement from Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, Director General of Media and Publicity at the Government House, the approved funds will support critical sectors such as agriculture, roads, and backlog allowances.

**Key highlights of the approved allocations include:**
– N7,761,681,223.22 earmarked for the dualisation of 5km roads across all 44 Local Government Areas.
– N239,536,859.21 allocated for the construction of three rural roads in Gwale, Ajingi, and Kiru/Madobi LGAs.
– N7,123,750,000 set aside for the procurement of 500 relief transformers to benefit communities throughout the state.
– N6,400,000,000 allocated for constituency projects scheduled for 2024.
– N343,363,068.78 approved for the construction of a two-coat surface-dressed road in Gezawa LGA.
– N819,500,000 allocated for the procurement of 20 Toyota Hilux vehicles and one Toyota Bus for state MDAs.

**Additional approvals include:**
– N5,345,343,190.98 for rural roads and agricultural marketing project interventions.
– N26,405,447.92 for office renovations at the Government House.
– N29,619,918.23 for repairs at Kofar Nassarawa.
– N354,766,992.59 as a counterpart fund for the construction/rehabilitation of 12 rural roads.
– N248,786,369.72 for expansion of crash barriers, street curbs, and painting.
– N130,460,000 for harmonised allowances for casual staff at the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board.
